Sonic Adventure 2 Isn't Great

Sonic Adventure 2 is a game that splits the opinions of Sonic fans. While It Introduces new characters, a fresh story, and can have fast-paced gameplay the series was built upon, it falls short in many places that end up ruining the overall experience. In this post, I will explore the flaws of Sonic Adventure 2 , Including the Horrendous Knuckles and Rouge Stages, the just as bad Tails and Eggman sections, and the weaker stages of Shadow compared to Sonic

One Of the worst things about the game lies in the Knuckles and Rouge Sections. These stages force players to search for shattered pieces of the Master Emerald in levels that are way too large. Sadly, these treasure hunting stages are boring and repetitive , having absolutely no clear guidance or exciting challenges. The camera is also your greatest enemy, its horrible angles lead you to miss pieces of the emerald making you stay in these horrible stages even longer.

Similarly, Tails And Eggman's Stages Are Just As Bad. These sections contain controlling mechs and using shooting mechanics, aiming to add variety to the gameplay. However, the controls and mechanics feel clunky, making impossible to enjoy these sections. The lack of interesting level design and engaging gameplay further dampen the experience.

While Sonic's stages give the the expected high-speed platforming action, the same is not true for Shadow's stages. Shadow's Stages never have the same excitement as Sonic's levels. The overall flow of Shadow's Stages tend to be worse and can feel tedious over Sonic's sections.

But on a positive note, Sonic Adventure 2 has an amazing soundtrack that makes the lackluster gameplay playable. The music adds a layer of energy and atmosphere to the game, with catchy tunes that complement the action. The music is one of the only enjoyable things about Sonic Adventure 2

In conclusion, Sonic Adventure 2 is a pretty bad game in the sonic series. While It Introduced new elements and keeps the fast-paced gameplay, it falls short in nearly all areas such as the Knuckles and Rouge, Tails and Eggman's Gameplay, and the middling stages of Shadow. However, the game benefits from a great soundtrack that makes the experience ever so slightly better.
